Why this matters:
22,767 drug overdose deaths
in the United States were related to pharmaceuticals in 2013
One in six teenagers has used a prescription medicine to get high.
Medicines flushed or put in the trash can end up in our surface waters, groundwater and drinking water— exposing our families and hurting our environment.
Note: Residents may dispose of prescription medicines and non-prescription pills such as vitamins. Bring medicines in original containers or bags. Remove any personal identifying information. Keep liquids in original containers to avoid spills.
